AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Waterbury - Mrs. Eileen (Noonan) Kelly, age 84, of Circular Ave., Waterbury, died Wednesday at Abbott Terrace Health Center after an extended illness. She was the wife of Thomas F. Kelly.
Eileen was born in Waterbury, on May 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Matthew and Bridget (Raleigh) Noonan. She was a graduate of SS Peter & Paul Grammar School and Wilby High School and had been employed at Scovill Mfg during the 1950's. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her family in Waterbury's East End. In her later years, she was a School Crossing Guard for SS Peter & Paul School and did so for many years. She was a lifelong communicant of SS Peter & Paul Church, a member of the Madonna Guild and was very involved in many aspects of the parish life.
Besides her husband of 61years, Eileen is survived by two sons, Tom Kelly and his wife Mary of Waterbury and Jim Kelly and his wife Cheryl of Woodbury, one daughter, Mary Hensley and her husband Bob of Port St. Lucie FL, 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Tom, Michael, Jimmy, Megan, Bobby, Michael, Matthew, Jeffrey and Kelly and one great grandson, Tucker T. Kelly. Eileen also leaves a brother, Paul Noonan of Maryland and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Peggy Kelly, three brothers, Dennis, Francis and Matthew Noonan and her sister Virginia Settle.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 8:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 ?" 7 pm.
