WATERBURY CT. Mrs. Evelyn L. (Archer) Troland, age 89 formerly of Waterbury, died on Tuesday February 15, 2011 at Aurora Senior Living of Bucks Hill in Waterbury. She was the widow of the late Clinton A. Troland.
Mrs. Troland was born on September 18, 1921 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Ralph and Eva (Heinrick) Archer. She was a graduate of Hopeville Grammer School, Wilby High School and Post Jr. College. She was employed for many years as an Executive Secretary at the Waterbury Companies and at Somers, Olin Corp. She as a longtime member of the South Congregational Church where besides being a loyal parishioner she worked as Church Secretary, was a member of the Trustees and the Diaconate. Evelyn was also a member of the Womens Association and the South Waterbury Senior Citizens. She loved to entertain and spend time with her family and enjoyed knitting
Evelyn is survived by her son, Thomas Troland and his wife Carolyn of Wolcott, with whom she made her home and her daughter, Betsy Ciarlo and her husband Rocco of Waterbury. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Amy Ciarlo, Matthew Ciarlo, Rachel Walker and her husband Ryan and Sara Troland as well as a great grandson Braden Walker, her sisters-in-law, Jeannine Troland of Waterbury, Margaret Troland of Cheshire, brother-in-law Fred Troland and his wife Lee of Torrington Evelyn also leaves many close cousins including, Mary Kelson, Harold and Joan Peterson, Nancy Kenny, and Patrick and Ronald Wilson and many nieces and nephews
Funeral Services for Mrs. Troland will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 am at the South Congregational Church 160 Piedmont St. Waterbury CT . Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00am. Memorial donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the South Congregational Church, Memorial Fund, 160 Piedmont St Waterbury CT 06706.
