Louis E. Archambault Jr.

July 27, 1923 — February 6, 2017

Wolcott -Louis E. Archambault Jr., age 93 of Wolcott passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Monday February 6th 2017, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at Vitas Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the widow of Arlene (O'Keefe) Archambault.

Louis was born July 27,1923, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Louis E. and Ruth (Garrigus) Archambault Sr. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and proudly served his country in the US Air Corps during WWII where he flew 48 missions as a member of the 22nd Bomb Squadron. Upon returning from the war he studied accounting at Bryant College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree and worked for several area manufacturing companies including Chase Brass and Copper and retired from ACCO Babcock. He was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing. He especially enjoyed spending many happy years with his family and friends at their second home in Charlestown, RI, where he would spend countless hours sitting on the front porch relaxing. He was a parishioner at St Pius X Church in Wolcott as well as a member of the Wolcott Senior Center and looked forward to Veteran's Day events every year where he would go to Tyrrell Middle School and share his experiences with the children. Everyone will remember Lou as always ready to share a quick-witted joke or limerick.

Among his survivors are his 6 sons: William and his wife Sally of Napa, CA, Craig of Beaver Creek, OH, David and his wife Lee of Wolcott, Steven and his partner Deborah of Goffstown, NH, Brian of Wolcott, and Paul and Tracey of Farmington. In addition to his siblings Richard Archambault of FL, Raymond Archambault of FL and James Archambault of Cheshire, his sisters Flora Ayers and Elaine Roberts both of Wolcott as well as seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by siblings Joseph and Donald Archambault and Amelia Upton.

Funeral services for Mr. Archambault will be held on Friday, February 10th, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Rites of Committal will be held privately at the family's convenience. Relatives and friends may visit with Louis' family on Thursday, February 9th from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705. Memorial donations in Mr. Archambault's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
