WATERBURY - Adelaida Velez age 47 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a long but courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Victor Millan.
Adelaida was born in Waterbury on February 18, 1969, the daughter of Esteban and Aurea (Perez) Velez Sr. of Waterbury. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and was a loving and dedicated homemaker who cherished the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed music and dancing and was a member of Sacred Heart - Sagrado Corazon Church.
Besides her former husband and parents, Adelaida is survived by her children, Victor Luis Millan-Velez, Esteban Joel Millan and his wife, Maria, and Aylin Millan all of Waterbury, her siblings, Aurea Velez, Sonia Velez, and Elizabeth Velez, all of Waterbury in addition to her grandchildren, Abdiel, Elianys, Gabriela. As well as her beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kristal Marie Millan.
The Velez family would like to thank and acknowledge VITAS Hospice services for the amazing care and support provided to Adelaida and her family during her illness especially Sue, Lee Ann, Heidi Martin, and Robin Bacon.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Velez will be held on Thursday, December 8th 2016 at 10:00am from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705 to Sacred Heart - Sagrado Corazon Church when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit with Adelaida's family Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5-7 pm.
