AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME. - Mr. Adrian Joseph Almeida age 98 of Clifton Ave. died Saturday at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the widow of Helen E. (Leonwicz) Almeida.
Adrian was born November 11, 1909 in Mongaulde, Portugal, a son of the late Joao and Maria (Conceicao) Almeida and lived in Waterbury for the past 4 years. Adrian was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and lived in Mount Vernon and Pelham, NY for most of his life. He also lived in Wallingford for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was employed as a driver for United Parcel Service where he worked for over 55 years. Adrian proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
He leaves a daughter Barbara Jeannin of Waterbury, a son Robert A. of Pomona NY, a brother Omar Silva of NC. two sisters Piodade Dias of Wallingford, Irene Dominguez of Meriden, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
