Mrs. Aida Maria Ramos Cruz

WATERBURY - It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Aida Maria Ramos Cruz age 93, announce her peaceful passing in the comfort of her home on Saturday September 14, 2024 with her family by her side. She was our beloved mother, (known as Mamá Aida) a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She was the widow of Paul Santos Batiz 

Born on March 23, 1931 in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Rosa Maria Cruz of Peñuelas, Puerto Rico and Marcos Ramos of Guayanilla. Mama Aida she was known for her laughter, and mischiefs (maldades), listening to music, and watching her telenovelas (soap operas) and a passion for cooking and spending time with her family. She worked for Escuela Industrial de Ninas in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she retired. After retirement she moved to Waterbury, CT in the early 1990’s. 

Left to honor her memory are her children; Wanda Santos of Waterbury, CT and her twins, Elvin Santos and the late Dennis Santos and her 6 grandchildren. 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was predeceased by her siblings: Victor Ramos (brother), Ivan Ramos (brother) and Hilda Ramos (sister). 

Funeral services for Aida will be held on Friday, September 20 ,2024 at 11:00 a.m at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Aida’s family on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
