Alan Lane

August 22, 1931 — October 19, 2021

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF ALAN LANE.

WATERBURY- Alan Lane (Angelo Magaraci), age 90, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 19, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the widower of Rosemary (MacSweeney) Lane who predeceased him in 2007 after 52 years of marriage.

Alan was born on August 22, 1931 in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Antonio and Pauline (Santa Maria) Magaraci. He graduated from Wilby High School. Alan worked as a bowling alley attendant, a bus driver and a construction worker. He later became a business owner of a package store in the Bunker Hill section of Waterbury, CT, a restaurant Cindy's Diner and then Lane Financial for many years until his wife became ill. He spent many years serving as an usher at St. John's Church in Watertown, CT. Alan was a people person who enjoyed making people laugh by telling jokes. He enjoyed taking rides, college basketball, watching his favorite shows on television along with going out to eat, but what he truly loved was just being around his family. Alan never had children of his own so he would treat his nieces and nephews as though they were.

Alan is survived by his niece Amy Laires and her husband Mark Laires with whom he lived; his brother Joseph Magaraci and his sister Anita Rossi. He was predeceased by his sisters Rosemary Sbordone and Mary Sereduck. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved very dearly.
