Beloved Husband Father and Son
OAKVILLE – It is with overwhelming sadness and profound grief that we announce the unexpected passing of Alan Leonard Sirois Jr., age 55, of Oakville, who passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lorilee “Lori” (Hedger) Sirois.
Alan was born October 15, 1968, in Waterbury, CT, the son of Alan L. “Kip” Sirois Sr. and Evelyn (Bartkus) Sirois, of Waterbury. He was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School and had been working as a toolmaker at Bauer Manufacturing. Alan was best known for his “green thumb” and love of gardening. He had a prize-worthy garden in his yard that he loved to spend time tending to, and he also enjoyed canning many of the vegetables. Alan loved to cook for his family and friends, and his family is rather concerned that the bacon market will suffer now that Alan will no longer be buying bacon. Alan also loved fishing and ice fishing and has fond memories of his fishing trip to Okinawa, Japan, with his son Andrew. In addition to fishing with his son, Alan also had fond memories attending many concerts with his daughter Brittany. Alan was a straight shooter and would always tell you exactly how things were without sugarcoating it. He always spoke his mind, which tended to be humbling, but always respectful. Alan also loved loud and heavy music and you could typically hear him coming from a mile away if he was traveling to your home. Alan cherished his walks with his fur babies, Bruin and Ryke, who will truly miss him. What brought the greatest joy to Alan was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, as well as his many friends and extended family.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory beside his parents, are his wife, Lori, of 9 years, sons, Andrew L. Sirois and his wife, Janelle, of Virginia Beach, VA, Richard “RJ” Hedger and his significant other Kathryn, of Terryville, his daughters, Brittany Sirois, of Boston, Ashley Nedley and her significant other Jamie of Terryville, his former wife, Rhonda Quint, of Thomaston, sister, Darlene Kobylenski and her husband, Dan, of Goshen. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Riley, Mason, Camrin, Kobe, and Jaxxon, and anticipated arrival of his newest granddaughter, Elli. In addition, he also leaves several nieces and nephews, including Mark Quint Jr., as well as other extended family members and many friends. He is predeceased by his uncles, Robert Bartkus and Louis Sirois.
Relatives and friends may join the Sirois family in honoring Alan’s life on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville, CT 06779. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
