WATERBURY Alan D. Zanavich age 56 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7th 2022 at the CT Hospice Center in Branford after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Alan was born March 25th 1966 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Moraski) Zanavich. He was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and was a graduate of Kennedy High School. Alan was a skilled and talented automotive mechanic and he worked for various automotive repair shops throughout the Waterbury area. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the NY Yankees as well as spending time outdoors gardening or riding his bicycle. Alan had a real passion for working on cars. Alan will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help a friend or family member out. He would often offer his assistance and help even before he was asked. He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his siblings; Mark Zanavich and his wife, Carol of Cheshire, Shirley Beale and her husband, David of Wolcott, Elaine Zanavich of North Haven, and Susan Grant and her husband, Clark of Parker CO as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis Zanavich.
Funeral Services for Mr. Zanavich will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
