Waterbury ?" Albert Andrew Cantito Sr. age 88 of Waterbury, died Wednesday September 24th at his home with his devoted wife Gladys by his side.

Albert was born September 28, 1920 in Waterbury, CT. He was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Sorvillo) Cantito. He attended local schools and served in the US Air Force during World War II where he was stationed in Panama.

He held various positions of employment and was self-employed for many years as a T.V. and radio repairman. He worked for Merchants Parcel Delivery Co., Chase Brass, and more recently at Timex where he worked as a foreman in the gyro department before his retirement in 1982. He was well respected by all who worked with and for him.

Albert had many hobbies including arts and crafts, and woodworking. He had a passion for fishing and spending time outdoors. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

His family would like all to remember him as a kind and generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to others at a moment's notice.

Besides his wife Gladys (Casagrande) Cantito of 54 years, he is survived by his son Dr. Albert A. Cantito and his wife Maria of Middlebury his two grandchildren, Elisa Therese and Andrew James, as well as several nieces and nephews. Albert was pre-deceased by his 5 brothers: Sam, Ralph, Salvatore, Sal, Joseph, and 4 sisters: Elizabeth Brightman, Sue Carangelo, Rita Dowling, and Josephine (Babe) Magnarella.

Services for Mr. Cantito will be held Tuesday September 29th at 10:00 from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home (1581 East Main St Waterbury) to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church 785 Highland Ave Waterbury for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00. Visiting hours for Mr. Cantito are scheduled for Tuesday morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Evergreen cemetery North St Watertown.
