WATERBURY - Albert Leo "Lee" Howarth Jr. age 61 of Waterbury passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Lee was born September 27, 1960 the son of Albert Leo Howarth Sr. and the late Donna (St. George) Howarth. Lee was a jockey, music lover and free spirit. He started riding thoroughbred race horses at the age of 20 and was in the top 3 leading riders at the New England County Fairs for many years. After retiring from racing, Lee regularly attend music festivals and concerts, becoming part of the Northeastern jam band community.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, besides his father Albert Leo Howarth Sr., are his son, Shawn Howarth, daughter, Dawn (Howarth) Lestage, former wife, and friend Doreen Howarth, grandchildren; Layla and Logan Lestage, Mikayla Powell, and Autumn Hranek, He also leaves his brothers Michael and Chris Howarth, sister Michelle (Howarth) Santos, Stepmother, Lorraine Howarth, Stepbrother, George Perry, as well as his nephews and cousins. Lee was predeceased by his mother, Donna (St. George) Howarth, his son, Albert Leo "Little Lee" Hranek, and his sister Robin Howarth.
A Memorial Service and dinner will be held at the American Legion, 62 Bunker Hill Rd. in Watertown, CT from 2-8pm Sunday, April 10th. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St. Waterbury has been honored to assist the Howarth family during this difficult time.
