Waterbury, CT. Mrs. Alberta (Molt) Sullivan, age 90, formerly of The Village at East Farms in Waterbury, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. who passed away on October 3, 2003.
Alberta was born on December 27, 1917, in Fall River MA, the daughter of the late Albert and Teresa (Doran) Molt. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River and Smith College in Northampton MA Class of 1938. Alberta was employed for 17 years as a Teacher in the Wolcott School System, teaching first grade at both Frisbie and Terrell Schools until her retirement in 1978. Alberta was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles and was a dedicated fan of the UConn Womens Basketball Team. Alberta was an enthusiastic conversationalist and always enjoyed a good debate. A loving mother and grandmother, Alberta always put her family first. She was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her two sons, Daniel J. Sullivan III of Kiawah Island SC and Richard A. Sullivan of Andover NJ, and her daughter, Mrs. Constance "Connie"S. McGrath of Caswell Beach NC. She also leaves seven grandchildren; Kelly McGrath Blackwell, Kimberly McGrath Corradi, Theodore V. McGrath Jr., Daniel J. Sullivan IV, Conor D. Sullivan, Brian R. Sullivan and Kelsey E. Sullivan and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sullivan will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 9:30AM from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St. Waterbury, CT. to Saints Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd, Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Old St Joseph's Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends and family may visit the funeral home on Sunday, October 12, 2003 from 5:00 -7:00 PM.
