WATERBURY- Alejandro “Alexx” Santiago, age 40, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
Alexx was born in Waterbury on June 23, 1982, to the late Carlos “Charlie” Torres and Nilda Santiago. He graduated Adult ED and then went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Alexx spent over 20 years working as a CNA at Autumn Lake of Bucks Hill. Alexx lived life to the fullest no matter how dark his day or the world became. He always made sure those around him saw the light through his comedic humor and silliness. He is more than the life of the party; he is the party. He has a laugh that makes you laugh and a smile to brighten any day. His heart is always pure and kind, he pampered his patients with unrestricted care and kindness, he was the best caregiver that you could want. He loves his family and Mom is his ride or die sidekick. Those who know and love him know he is the funniest, sweetest, and most loving man. Pets and animals are his weakness, he would always find an excuse to bring a stray, lost, or abandoned animal home, and if he had it his way, he would have his own Noah’s Ark. He also loves to brighten up any occasion for children with his various mascot costumes. Another passion was saving the environment one can/bottle at a time. He loved the Golden Girls, RuPaul drag race, pizza, chinese fried chicken, and eggrolls, karaoke and singing, music was his escape. We all have memories and moments that we will forever remember him for and that is what we should cherish. He impacted everyone he met. Some knew him, some did not know him, but they will always remember his beautiful spirit and handsome presence. He is loved by so many and will be missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his mother, Nilda Santiago, siblings; Monica Vazquez Navarro and Vanessa Torres, Manuel Santiago and David Astacio, his devoted partner, Herbert “Maxxie” Terry, his nieces; Abrina Santiago, Geneva Baskins, Jerrica Baskins, Jayleen, Jalexis, and Jayla, his bestie, Melanie Alvarez, and a host of other friends, extended family members, and co-workers, and his beloved cats, Chic and Juke. Alexx was predeceased by his father Carlos “Charlie” Torres, his beloved Chihuahua, Macho, and cat, JayZ.
