WATERBURY - Alfred Jerome James Sr. age 66 of Waterbury passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Alfred was born in Society Hill South Carolina on November 26, 1952 the son of the late Bradley and Margaret (Tedder) James. He worked for many years locally as a factory worker. Alfred had a wonderful sense of humor, was a kind and generous gentleman and was always happiest in the company of his large family. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Alfred leaves his children; Veronica James of Waterbury, Alfred Jerome James Jr of Plantsville, Charles, Loretta and Damian James all of Waterbury and Vanessa James and her husband, Herbert Shell of Waterbury. He also leaves his siblings; Ethel Mae Sweeney, Johnny Boy James, John Curtis James. Alphonso James, Gale James, James E. James and Billy James. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert James and Otis James and sisters, Whilhelmina and Lennis James.
Funeral services for Mr James will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT 06705. Burial will immediately follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Alfred's family on Monday from 10:00 till the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
