WATERBURY - Alfredo Lopez Crespo age 70 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at Saint Mary's Hospital on Sunday, December 11, 2016, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Gladys Lopez Cortez.
Alfredo was born May 15, 1946 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Juan and Justa Lopez Crespo. He moved to NY at the age of 18 and settled in Waterbury in 1978. He spent many years working as a machinist at the former Nova Dye/Fleisher Finishing Company and retired from Summit Corporation. Alfredo was a talented guitarist and carpenter and was an avid classic car enthusiast. He was a member of Saint Margaret Church. What brought the greatest joy to Alfredo was spending time with his cherished family.
Besides his wife, Gladys of 49 1/2 Years, Alfredo is survived by his children; Eddy Crespo and his wife Omyra, Wilfredo "Billy" Lopez and his wife, Belinda, Israel Lopez, Maggie Gutierrez and her husband, Luis all of Waterbury and Denise Donovan and her husband, James of Vernon in addition to his ten brothers, five sisters, eighteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Lopez will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart - Sagrado Corazon Church when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit with Alfredo's family at Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705 on Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm.
