AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME
OAKVILLE - Algirdas Stankus-Saulaitis, 57, of 82 Old Colonial Road, Oakville,
died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on July 11th, 2008. Born August 19, 1950 in Toronto, Algis graduated from St. Michael's College of the University of
Toronto with a B.A. in history and languages; he held a Masters in Library Science from Southern Connecticut University. Algis worked as a librarian at New York Public
Library, Silas Bronson Library, Northwestern Connecticut Community College,
and for the past ten years at Canterbury School.
He was the son of the late Antanas and Grazina Stankus of Toronto.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Marija Stankus-Saulaitis of Oakville; his brother, Gediminas Stankus of Beeton, ON; sister-in-law Irene Stankus; nephews Andrew and
Alexander Stankus; his sister, Gina Stankus of Toronto, ON; and cousins in the United States and Lithuania. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Rev. Antanas Saulaitis, SJ, of Lemont, IL, and friends here and abroad.
The funeral is Wednesday 9 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742
Main Street, Oakville, to Saint Joseph Church, 46 Congress Avenue,
Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10. Burial will follow in the
Lithuanian Cemetery, Plank Road, Waterbury.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and
Wednesday from 9 a.m. until leaving for church.
