WATERBURY - Alice M. Brewer age 75 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on September 10, 2019 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Darrell M. Brewer.
Alice was born October 17th 1943 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Horan) Barresi. She was raised and educated in New York before moving to Connecticut to raise her family. Alice was a loving and dedicated homemaker who devoted herself to raising her family. After her children were grown, she began working as a Machine Operator at Iseli Co.for several years until her retirement. Faith and church were an important part of Alice's life. She was a long time active parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul's Church and was an active member of Partner in Hope and would sponsor a child every month for St Jude's Children Research Hospital. Alice was always happiest while spending time with her family, especially while at the beach or dancing. Alice will be remembered for her profound love for her family, her attention to detail and her laugh. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to remember, cherish and honor Alice's love and legacy are her daughters; Dawn Velez and her husband, Anthony of New Britain, and Deborah Perkins and her husband, David of Dallas, GA. She also leaves her adoring grandchildren; Daniel "DJ", Sarah, Hannah, Jessah, and Lily in addition to many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel Brewer.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brewer will be held on Tuesday, September 17th 2019 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury at 11:00 a.m. Those planning to attend the church service are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Alice's family on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street @ Southmayd Road, Waterbury.
