Lifelong Waterbury Resident
WATERBURY – Alice Laliberte, age 87 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
Alice was born on January 14, 1936, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Raoul and Maria (Cote) Laliberte. A lifelong Waterbury resident, Alice graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School and was proud to stay home to raise her four children as a devoted homemaker. Once her children were older, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and worked for over 30 years at Meridian Manor in Waterbury. She enjoyed many activities, including playing cards especially pinochle, camping with her family at Rocky Neck, reading, Bingo after Mass at St. Michael’s, and weekly lunches with her girlfriends. Alice also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, was an avid fan of Neil Diamond and loved all of her animals. Alice was unique in so many ways and she made the world a better place for all of us, and we are all blessed and thankful to have had her in our lives.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Kathleen Creem and her husband, Neil, Colleen Shatas and her husband David, Judy Kent and her husband Michael and Kevin Reilly and his partner Paul, her cherished grandchildren; Kathleen, Michael, Matthew, Sarah, Zachary and Stevie. She also leaves two sisters; Marie Gertrude and Fernande Laliberte and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. She was predeceased by 8 siblings. The Laliberte family would like to acknowledge and thank Alice’s primary caregiver, Teanna for the excellent care and love she shared with Alice and her family throughout her illness.
Funeral services for Alice will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the Laliberte family on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7: 00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705.
