AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
Waterbury - Mrs. Ana (Aninhas) C. DaSilva age 76, of Ridgefield Ave. Waterbury, died Sunday February 20, 2011 at Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by her family after an extended illness. She was wife of Jose DaSilva.

Mrs. DaSilva was born June 3rd 1934 in Vila Real, Portugal, the daughter of the late Manuel and Alexandrinha (Alves) Cardoso. She worked as a machine operator for both Timex and Torrington Company before her retirement. Her hobbies included knitting and cooking for her family, but she was always happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who brought her great joy. Ana was a generous woman who was deeply devoted to her family. She used her extraordinary culinary talents to gather family members around her dining table every Sunday. There was always enough food and an extra seat at her table for any friend or guest, as everyone was welcomed with open arms. Though she may be gone, Ana leaves her thankful family members with many cherished memories. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Besides her husband of 60 years, Mrs. DaSilva is survived by her children, Jose Manuel "Zem" DaSilva and his wife Elizabeth of Waterbury, Maria C. DaSilva of Naugatuck, Jacinto DaSilva of Waterbury and Paula Mina of Waterbury. She also leaves her brothers Manuel Cardoso and Edgar Cardoso as well as her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Joaquim DaSilva and her sisters, Maria de Lourdes Pires, Fatima Carvalho, and Ermelinda Cardoso.

Funeral services for Mrs. DaSilva will be held on Friday, February 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin Street Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may visit at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury, on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.
