WATERBURY—It is with profound sadness that the family of Andrea “ AJ” Sherman, age 46, of Waterbury, share the heartbreaking news of her unexpected passing on Sunday, December 29th, 2024 as a result of a tragic accident. God decided it was time to call home another angel.  

AJ was born in Bridgeport on March 7, 1998 the daughter of the late Paul Stone and Dolores “Dodie” Freed Thronton and her husband Richard Thornton. AJ was educated in local schools, graduated from Wilby High School and worked for many years as a home health aide and companion where her empathy and caring was a blessing to so many. Nothing was more important to AJ than her daughters who she absolutely “lived her life for”. May she watch over us all and be our angel. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.  

Left to cherish her memory, besides her mother and stepfather, are her daughters; ShayLynn Sherman and Che’Vonne Johnson Sherman, her sister, Shannon Perez and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends may visit with the Sherman family on Friday evening January 3,2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. .
