AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WATERBURY
Waterbury Mrs. Andrea Ann Vaughan Duffy - age 61 of North Fort Myers FL and Waterbury CT, died unexpectedly on Friday October 5th 2012 at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was widow of Paul V. Duffy.
Andrea was born March 6th 1951 in Waterbury Ct the daughter of the late Charles W. Vaughan Jr. and Stephanie (Rinaldi) Vaughan. She was raised in Waterbury and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and received her bachelors in nursing from Salve Regina University in Rhode Island and worked as a neonatal nurse at the Women's and Infants hospital in Providence where she served as the union steward for several years. She also worked at John Dempsey Hospital University of Connecticut in Farmington Neonatal unit before her retirement.
Andrea was very active in politics and social affairs and was a staunch democrat. She enjoyed golfing and was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Ft. Myers FL and also attended The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury.
Among her survivors are her brothers Charles W. Vaughan III and Douglas S. Vaughan of Waterbury and several beloved nieces and a nephew, Lauren, Alexa, Katherine, Scott, Rachael, and Mackenzie Vaughan as well as many friends in the Fort Myers area.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Duffy will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 9:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St. Waterbury, to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception church, 74 West Main St. Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Duffy's name may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. 135 Parkinson Avenue Staten Island, New York 10305.
