WATERTOWN - Andrew J. Lucewicz Sr., age 96 of Oakville, died peacefully Wednesday, March 2, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. He was the widow of Mary R. (Cipriano) Lucewicz.
Mr. Lucewicz was born December 19, 1919 in Springfield MA, the son of the late Efim and Catherine (Jajo) Lucewicz. Andrew proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army and was a Life Member of the VFW Post 7330 in Oakville. Andrew worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Oakville for many years until his retirement in 1982.
Among his survivors are his two sons; Andrew J. Lucewicz Jr., and his wife Vanessa of Waterbury, and Rich Lucewicz of Myrtle Beach, SC., his two daughters, Irene Lucewicz and Lorraine Guiditta and her husband Brian all of Oakville, six grandchildren Vikki, Brian, Mark, Andrea, Susan and Patti, five great grandchildren Ryan, Brittney, Carlie, Catlin and Amber, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John Lucewicz and sister, Mary Ferretti.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
