WATERBURY - Andry Evangelista, age 20 of Waterbury, passed tragically on Sunday, June 7, 2020 in Farmington CT. He was the son of Cristina (Alcantara) Cruz and Noel Cruz
Andry was born on May 17, 2000 in Waterbury, the son of Juan Evangelista and Cristina Cruz Andry was a graduate of Kennedy High School where he was an accomplished track star and runner and where he made many friends. Andry was an Eagle Scout something that is widely acclaimed and represents just 6% of young men eligible for the award. He enjoyed each and every day was adored by his family and he returned that love by his tireless commitment to his family. He was to be a Junior at the University of CT and hoped one day to use his studies and caring for others as a Physical Therapist. Andry will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor Andry's love and memories, besides his mother, father and stepfather are his sister, Amelis Evangelista, his step brothers, Yariel and Noel J. Cruz and his maternal grandmother, Leonor DeLaRosa, his Aunt, Nayare Rivera and his Uncle, Brenny Alcantara as well as many other family members, cousins and friends. .
Funeral services for Mr. Evangelista will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 12 noon at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with Andry's family, complying with all applicable social distancing guidelines on Friday from 9:30 till 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Please wait outside until instructed to enter the funeral home by staff members.
