WATERBURY, CT - Anibal Medina, age 61 of Waterbury, passed away Thursday October 8, 2015 at The Connecticut Hospice Center in Branford after an extended illness. He was the husband of Nancy (Sanabria) Medina.
Anibal was born June 30th 1954 in Moca, Puerto Rico, the son of Tomasa Medina and the late Miguel Medina. He moved to the Brooklyn, NY area as a teen and proudly served his country with the United States Army based out of San Francisco, CA. He moved to Connecticut in 2010 and spent several years working as a sales representative and truck driver at G & R Electronics. Anibal was a member of Cornerstone Church of Cheshire where he served as a deacon and was an active parishioner. He also enjoyed gardening and was always happiest while surrounded by the love and comfort of his family especially his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Nancy of 37 years, Anibal is survived by his daughters, Neisa Nunez, and Angie Perez, both of Waterbury, Lynette Medina, of Queens, NY and Mia Fernandez, of Waterbury, in addition to many brothers, two sisters, ten grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Ajay Medina
Graveside services with full Military Honors for Mr. Medina will be held on Saturday October 10th 2015 at 9:00am from Eastside Memorial "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury, CT 06705 to the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane Middletown for 10:30 am interment. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30pm. Relatives and friends may visit with Anibal's family at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00pm until the time of the services at 7:30pm.
