OAKVILLE – Anita Loretta (Mercier) Bouchard, age 76, of Oakville, CT, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family and their love and devotion. She was the beloved wife of Normand Bouchard Sr. for 54 years.
Anita was born on March 20, 1947 in Bristol, CT, the daughter of the late Homer Arthur Sr. and Loretta (Bradley) Mercier. Anita was raised in Waterbury, and graduated from Crosby High School. Following high school, she began her family with Normand as a stay-at-home mom who raised four children and enjoyed providing daycare to others. Anita loved gardening, dancing, listening to music, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anita made the world a better place for all of us, and we are all blessed and thankful to have had her in our lives.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory besides her husband, Normand Joseph Bouchard Sr. are her three children; Lisa Marie (Wendell) Radcliffe, Normand Joseph (Jennie) Bouchard Jr., Ronald David (Maria) Bouchard. Anita and Normand were blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with extended family and friends. Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her brother, Homer Arthur Mercier Jr., and her son, Steven Mark Bouchard.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bouchard will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. from the Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 742 Main St Oakville, CT 06779 to Holy Disciples Parish, Saint Mary Magdalen Church, Oakville when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Anita’s family on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home.
