Active Volunteer for Several Organizations in CT and FL
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL - Ann Gonder age 93, formerly of Plainville and Oakville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 20th 2020 at The Gulfside Center for Hospice Care in New Port Richey Florida. She was the widow of Charles Gonder.
Ann was born November 4th 1927 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late William and Theodora (Daddona) DiNunzio. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and lived in Waterbury, Oakville, and the Plainville area before moving to Florida. Ann worked as a Circulation Clerk for the New Britain and Farmington public libraries and was a member of the Literacy Volunteers of America, New Britain Chapter. Ann was an avid ballroom dancer. She was a former member of Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville, a member of the Plainville Women's Club, and the Plainville Senior Center. She was also a glowing member of the Red Hat Society, the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in CT and FL. and an active member of the Hadassah Women's organization of Port Richey FL.
The Rinaldi family would like to thank the girls from Awesome Home Care for the care and companionship they afforded to Ann for the last three years.
Left to remember, cherish and honor Ann's' memory and legacy, are her children, James F. Rinaldi and his wife, Madeline, Carl Morales and his wife, Barbara, and her daughter, Joy Godsil all of Waterbury. She also leaves her siblings; Lena Pietrantuono of Watertown, Jayne Clemente of Oakville, and Elizabeth "Betty" DiNunzio of Georgia. In addition, she is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Valerie, Joseph, Pamela and Steven as well as her three great grandchildren; Everleigh, Jhett and Conrad. Ann was also excited for the anticipated arrival of her newest great grandchild expected any day. She was predeceased by her brothers; Ralph and Anthony DiNunzio and sisters, Mary Ruccio, Phyllis DiNunzio, Delores DiMichele and Rose Pedro.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gonder will be held on Saturday, November 28th 2020 at 11:30 a.m, at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville, Ct 06779. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may attend a walkthrough visitation at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 am until the service at 11:30. All governmental restriction related to the COVID 19 virus will be strictly enforced.
