AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - OAKVILLE- Ann M. (Montagano) Hanas age 85, formerly of Dalton Street Oakville, died Tuesday at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of John J. Hanas.
Ann was born February 29, 1924 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alvera (Devito) Montagano and lived in Oakville for the past 45 years. She was educated in Waterbury Schools. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a housekeeper at Taft School in Watertown. Ann Marie was an avid gardener and a communicant of Saint Mary Magdalen Church.
Mrs. Hanas is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Maringola and Ann Marie Hanas both of Waterbury, a sister Rose Mortkyco of Waterbury, four grandchildren, Albert Maringola III, Nicholas Mucciaro III, Patricia DiPietro and John Michael Hanas III, four great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John J. Hanas Jr., a daughter Patricia Mucciaro, and three brothers Joseph, Michael and Sal Montagno.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hanas will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 9:15am from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville to Saint John the Evangelist Church, Main St Watertown for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:15 a.m. until leaving for church services.
