Enjoyed a long life well lived
WATERBURY, CT – It is with profound sadness that the family of Ann C. (Lahey) Mulhall age 91 of Waterbury and Bayview, Milford shares the news of her peaceful passing in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of John P. Mulhall, who passed in 2022.
Ann was born on February 26, 1933, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude (Holian) Lahey. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School. She first worked as an assistant for Dr Louis DellaPietro and then joined the City of Waterbury Department of Education’s Lunch program where she was widely known and well-loved as the “cookie lady” at Crosby High School. Her children will say that the only reason she took that job was to look after them, but she enjoyed many years with all of the students, friends and neighbors of Waterbury’s East End. Ann was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Church and taught in their CCD program. She and her devoted husband John loved wintering in South Carolina but most importantly they spent as much time as they could with their family at their summer cottage in Bayview, Milford. Although small in stature Ann was a giant of everything good; humility, integrity, generosity. Her family enjoys the gratitude of the time they had with their mom, the love they shared, memories achieved and the support of many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: David Mulhall and his wife, Roxie of Thomaston, Sean Mulhall and his wife Leslie of Naugatuck, Nancy Mattaboni, and her husband Danny, Patti Guastaferri and her husband Lou and Cynthia Colangelo and her husband Carl all of Waterbury. John and Ann were blessed with 13 grandchildren: McKenzie, Stephanie, Michelle, Staci, Mark, Jaclyn, Megan, Jake, Seth, Riley, Matthew, Taylor and Paige. 10 great grandchildren; Isabella, Matteo, Harper, Lucas, Ariana, Zoey, Leilani, Julien, Jaielle and Chloe and her sister-in-law, Barbara Lahey of Naugatuck as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Ann was predeceased by her Siblings: Donald Lahey and Mary Fran Dumschott.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mulhall will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from the Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care to Mary Mother of the Church Parish, St Leo the Great Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
