AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Waterbury ?" Ann Shove?"McDermott, age 50, of Woodtick Rd Waterbury, died early Tuesday morning at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Kevin McDermott.

Ann was born June 6, 1959 in Waterbury, the daughter of Robert V. Shove of Waterbury and the late Anna Mae (Cipriano) Shove. She graduated from Crosby High School and Mattatuck Community College with a degree in early childhood education. She worked for Cedar Lane Rehab in Waterbury for over 20 years as Food Service Director. During her tenure there she was the "mother" to many of the employees under her supervision and was well known for sharing love and support to patients and employees alike. Most recently, she was a teacher at Waterbury Family Services in the infant room where she continued to touch many lives. Ann was the matriarch of her own family, always there to share her time and love with her husband, daughter, sister and brother and extended family. Ann loved the ocean, was an avid reader and she and her husband were dedicated supporters of animal rescue efforts in the area. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Waterbury.

Besides her father and loving husband, Ann leaves her daughter, Kristin and her husband, Jonathan Callahan of Waterbury, a brother Robert Shove and his companion, Lori Tillotson of Bristol, her sister, Pamela Shove of Waterbury and her nieces and nephews, Amber, Brittany, Richard, Nicholas and Savannah

Funeral services for Mrs. Shove-McDermott will be held on Friday, November 13th at 10:00am at St. John's Episcopal Church, on the Green in Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may visit at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St. Waterbury on Thursday evening from 5:00- 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ann's memory are suggested to Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries, 16 Church St Waterbury CT 06702.
