AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, OAKVILLE - A. Eleanor (Meisinger) Towle age 90 of Buckingham Street, Watertown, died Monday at her home. She was the widow of Clayton P. Towle.
Eleanor was born March 3, 1918 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Herman and Josephine (Tangney) Meisinger and lived in Oakville and Watertown most of her life. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Eleanor was an art teacher at Saint John the Evangelist School for over 20 years, and also taught adult education. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women at Saint John the Evangelist where she was also a communicant. She lived in Florida for over 17 years and was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Palm Bay FL where she was also involved with the St. Cecilia's Craft Class.
Eleanor is survived by four children; Peter C. Towle of Fort Meyers FL, Dana M. Towle of Southington CT, Mary-Ann Greenwood of Palm Bay FL and Jo-Ann Brasche of Oakville. Eleanor also leaves 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Towle will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 8:00am from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville to St. John the Evangelist Church, Main St Watertown for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 5 ?" 8pm.
