“Devoted Mother, Grandmother and Sister”
WATERBURY – Mrs. Annette D. (Jalbert) Wrenn, age of 90, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully following a brief illness, at Hartford Hospital on June 8, 2023.
Annette was born on July 27, 1932, to Dennis and Rose (Devoe) Jalbert, in Caribou, Maine. Like so many from the Crown of Maine, at 19 years of age, Annette migrated to Connecticut to find work. She worked as a Quality Control Inspector at a few companies over the years including Wheeler Electric, Mattatuck Manufacturing, and Barwork Manufacturing. Annette found love when she met Donald Wrenn. She spent 27 years with Don, when he passed at 53 years old. She later found new love with Richard “Dick” Ricciardi and a blended family with Rick and MaryGrace, Camile and Brian Hughs, Bonnie and Elliott Firestone, Linda and Raymond and their families. Annette and Dick cooked side by side creating some great Italian dishes from the garden produce, and we all enjoyed many cordial cherries and glasses of homemade wine together. Annette spent 30 years with Dick until his passing and missed him every day – we all do. Annette was talented with a crochet hook. Among the many things she crocheted were intricate Barbie Doll clothes when the kids were small and many Afghans and scarves for the family. Annette was a steady, joyous, calming force of nature that was quick with a smile and enjoyed a hearty laugh over a game of cards. She was active in the St. Francis Xavier Ladies Club as treasurer, enjoyed Bingo and being “taxi” to her friends. And she was LOVED. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us.
To honor her memory and cherish her legacy, Annette leaves behind her 5 children: David and his wife Regina, Lynn, Cheryl Reed (Jim Reed), Patricia Alfieri (Joe Alfieri), and Michele Rosendale (Ed Rosendale), 3 grandchildren: Rachael & Michael Stroud and Jenna and Ryan Lewis, and 3 great-grandchildren: Maya, Sophia and James. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses and offspring from Maine to Florida and beyond.
Annette was the last surviving of the 11 children (Leon, Rita Savage, Norman, Ronald, Laurance “Mickey”, Anita Burby, Frederick (Junior), Elenore Parent, Joanne Barker, and Richard) with her brother, Richard passing away just a week before her.
Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of Annette’s family. To honor Annette’s memory and in lieu of flowers, donations to Annette’s favorite charity, Saint Jude Children’s Hospital,
