BELOVED SISTER AND AUNT
WATERBURY – Ms. Annmarie Garraffo, age 59 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at Autumn Lakes Health Care Center in Waterbury after a brief illness.
Annmarie was born May 13th, 1964, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late James and Josephine (Salamone) Garraffo. She grew up in the Watertown area and graduated from Watertown High School. Annmarie spent several years as a nurse’s aide at various healthcare facilities throughout the area, including the former Waterbury Extended Care and Whitewood Manor. Annmarie liked to take spontaneous trips and loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii and California and many cruises. Annmarie loved to listen to music and was a huge Michael Jackson fan but was always happiest while spending time with her brothers and nieces at family picnics. Annmarie was a child at heart and She truly embraced the role of Aunt. An aunt with no children of her own redefines the title, Aunt. She gladly accepts her nieces with great love as children of her own. It would not be uncommon at all to see Annmarie playing with her nieces as if she was one of their best friends. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her brothers, Tom Garraffo and his wife, Dawn, of Watertown, and their daughters, Jessica and Jenna, who always put a smile on Annmarie’s face. She also leaves her brother, Robert Garraffo of Waterbury and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
