OAKVILLE - Anthony Cefaretti, age 85 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2016 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. He is the husband of Theresa (Guerrera) Cefaretti.
Mr. Cefaretti was born on August 6, 1930 in Waterbury, the son of the late Francisco and Emanuella (Montagno) Cefaretti. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Anthony was a machinist by trade and worked for many years at Lewis Engineering in Naugatuck retiring in 1992. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7330 in Oakville and former member of the Watertown Fish and Game. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but was happiest when surrounded by his family especially his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville.
In addition to his loving wife, Theresa of 64 years, Anthony is survived by his daughter, Joanne Healy of Oakville; his sons, Daniel and his wife, Justine of Wolcott, Michael and his wife, Susan of Egg Harbor Township NJ and Mark and his wife, Sandra of Winston-Salem NC; as well as his 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Mary Grappone of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Cefaretti.
Funeral services for Mr. Cefaretti will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown with full military honors. Relatives and friends may visit with Anthony's family on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm. at the funeral home.
