WATERBURY - Mr. Anthony A. Farino, age 95 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully Saturday. February 7, 2015 at The Summit at Plantsville after a brief illness. He was the widower of Carmelina "Lena" (Garafolo) Farino.
Anthony was born August 9th 1919 in Waterbury, the son of the late Vincenzo and Mary (Ciarra) Farino He attended Anderson School and enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country during WWII. Anthony spent many years working as a machine operator at Pratt and Whitney before retiring in 1984. Tony will be remembered for his sharp wit and keen sense of humor. He always enjoyed joking with his family and friends and was always looking to get a laugh out of everyone. He enjoyed trips to the casino and playing setback and he was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Among his survivors are his son, Carmen Farino and his wife, Debbie of Wolcott, his daughter, Regina Wrenn and her husband, David of Southington, his grandchildren Pamela, Jay, and Matt, his great granddaughters, Lyrik, and Lydia as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, August Farino, Florence Marzano, and his twin sister, Angie Rubino.
Funeral services for Mr. Farino will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 10:30am when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Tony's family at Eastside Memorial " A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. on Wednesday evening from 4:00 till 7:00 pm.
