AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY CT. Mr. Anthony J. Gallo, age 86, of Waterbury, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Lita (Lauro) Gallo.
Mr. Gallo was born April 19, 1924 in the Bronx NY, a son of the late Luigi and Emilia (Margessa) Gallo. He was educated in the NY School System and entered the US Army Air Corp in 1942, having proudly served his country during World War II. Anthony was a distinguished veteran, Sergeant and mechanic of the B-24 Ground Crew Wing. He was owner/operator of Lauro Plumbing and Heating of Watertown, a business he dedicated himself to, having been founded by his late father-in-law. As a young man, Anthony was an avid bicyclist and won several awards for his accomplishments. He was a talented wood craftsman always building something for friends and family. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and mentor, devoted to his family. He was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Waterbury.
Besides his wife of 56 years, Anthony leaves a son, Louis Gallo and his wife Mary Beth of Watertown, a daughter, Lisa Daidone and her husband Stephen of San Jose CA, his grandchildren, William and Jonathon Gallo and his brother, Louis Gallo of Douglaston NY. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his brothers, Noah Parcesepe, Robert Parcesepe and sister, Mildred Carbone.
Funeral services Mr.Gallo will be held on Friday December 3, 2010 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main St Waterbury at 10:00am. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in Mr. Gallo's memory may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main St Waterbury 06706 or to a charity of the donors choice.
