AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME -
WOLCOTT Southington CT - Anthony S. Muraska, age 87, formerly of Garrigus Court in Wolcott, died peacefully Saturday, March 12th at the Southington Care Center after a extended illness.
Mr. Muraska was born July 9th 1923 in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Anthony J. and Annie (Rushowski) Muraska. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and received his bachelors degree from the University of Connecticut, School of Engineering in 1950. He proudly served his country with the US Army during WWII and worked as a civil engineer for many years working on various projects through out the greater Waterbury area before his retirement. Mr. Muraska was a long time member of The Company of Fifers and Drummers and played the snare drum during many parades and events throughout the state. He was a member of Saint Leo the Great Church and was an avid dog lover.
Mr. Muraska is survived by his close friends, Henry and Valerie Grzybowski and Robert Hoey, as well as several cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Francis and his sisters Mary Sharka and Josephine Perry. Mr. Muraska's friends and family would like to thank the staff at Southington Care Center especially, Lisa, Ann, & Jessica for all the care and special attention they provided over the past year and a half.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Muraska will be held on Wednesday, March 16th at 10:30am at Saint Leo the Great Church,14 Bentwood Dr Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury has been entrusted with arrangements.
