"Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather"
NAUGATUCK - Anthony "Tony" Zibello, affectionally known to his family and friends as "Zip", age 89 of Naugatuck, formerly of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24th 2019 at the Glendale Heath Care Center of Naugatuck after an extended illness. He was the loving husband of Helene (Gianinni) Zibello.
Anthony was born February 21, 1930 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Frank and Mary (Emanuel) Zibello. Zip spent 25 years working as the manager of the Heritage Village Water Company in Southbury before retiring. Zip had a great passion for music which was evident every time he picked up his accordion to play, which was something he did professionally for 25 years on weekends and for many years thereafter for enjoyment.
Besides his wife, of 67 years, Helene, Anthony is survived by his son, David Zibello and his wife, Betty, his daughter-law, Heidi Zibello, step grandchildren, Garrett Scheibel and his wife, Caitlin, Jordan Scheibel and his wife, Emily, Brittany Scheibel and step great grandchildren; Iris, Corrina and Oscar. He is predeceased by his son Richard Zibello
The Zibello family would like to thank and acknowledge Glendale Health Care Center and its staff for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Anthony and his family during his stay. In addition they would also like to thank Sunrise Hospice for the end of life care and guidance.
Funeral services for Mr. Zibello will be held on Wednesday, February 27th 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 14 Buckingham St Oakville, CT 06779 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
