THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF ANTOINETTE "Toni" UNWIN
Devoted wife, mother and grandmother
WATERBURY - Antoinette "Toni" Unwin age 89 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2022 after an extended illness. She was the widow of Thomas Unwin.
Toni was born in Scranton PA the daughter of the late Arcangelo and Louise (Sordi) Pennoni. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Savelle Ford and then Richard Chevrolet before retiring. A longtime devoted parishioner of St Francis Xavier Church where she was involved in many activities, a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered as a school librarian for 13 years before the school closed. Toni loved gardening, cooking and always looked forward to her monthly card games with her friends. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Steven Unwin and his longtime companion, Cathryn, Mary Clarke and her husband David all of Waterbury and Noreen Hart and her husband, Richard of Southington. She was blessed with her grandchildren; Olivia Hart, Dylan Hart, Ross Hart, Christian and Samuel Clark, Raine Green, Ian and Drew Clarke and Chase Green, Skylah and Logan Clarke. Toni was predeceased by her son, Thomas B. Unwin. The Unwin family would like to acknowledge the many caregivers who shared their love, care and professional services with their Mom, especially the staff at St. Mary's E.D. Telemetry, Vitas Hospice Care and Dr. Kelly.
Funeral services for Mrs. Unwin will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial 1987 East Main St Waterbury to St Francis Xavier Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial in the family plot at Old St. Joseph's Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Toni's family on Tuesday morning from 9:00 till 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. To honor Toni's memory, donations may be made to CT Special Olympics
