WOODBURY - Antone "Tony" F. Botelho, age 84, of Woodbury, formerly of Watertown, passed away October 30, 2013. He was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Gertrude (Jeanne) Botelho.
Tony was born on August 8, 1929 in New Bedford, MA, a son of the late Manuel and Clara (Costa) Botelho. He attended Sprague Grammar School in Waterville and Leavenworth High School in Waterbury. Prior to his retirement, Tony worked for the Raymond Baking Company and was also employed as a bus driver for CR&L. He enjoyed fixing cars, roller skating at Hamilton Park and listening to country music. He loved tag sales and meeting new people.
Antone leaves three children, Sharon Pratt of Watertown, Claudia Papiano and her husband Robert of Watertown and Ronald Botelho and his wife Maria of Westbrook, three grandchildren, James Di Dominzio Jr. and his wife Alicia of Naugatuck, Tony Di Dominzio of Watertown and Evan Botelho of Westbrook and two great-grandchildren Reece Di Dominzio and Ethan Goodrich Di Dominzio of Naugatuck. Antone also leaves his companion and caretaker for many years, Shirley Hoffman. He is predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Friday, November 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville, CT 06779. Rites of Committal will follow after in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Atone's family at the funeral home on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, 935 Main Street Watertown, CT 06795.
