THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF ANTONIO GONZALEZ
NEW BRITAIN - Mr. Antonio Gonzalez age 84, formerly of Waterbury, left the love of his family to enter the arms of our heavenly Father on Saturday, June 1, 2019. He passed surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the husband of Migdalia Gonzalez. .
Mr. Gonzalez was born on September 26, 1934 in Utuado Puerto Rico the island he cherished and where he was raised. He was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Gonzalez. Antonio moved to the mainland and settled in Connecticut. There he met his bride where they built a life and family together in Waterbury. He was a hard working man and possessed great integrity and conviction. A man who was loved and admired by his community he walked many miles each day stopping at each store and bodega where he was affectionately known as "Tony". Although his departure creates a huge void, Antonios family rests in the knowledge that the end of his life here is the beginning of his eternal life with Jesus.
He leaves behind his wife of over 50 years, Migdalia Gonzalez; his two daughters: Nancy Rodriguez and her husband, Carmelo and Mandy Knodle and her husband Bill, and his son, Antonio Gonzalez Jr. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Vanessa Narvaez (Hector), Veronica and Carmelo A. Rodriguez (Katelyn), Kaitlyn, Madison and Bradley Knodle. Three great-grandchildren: Elianna and Daliyah Vasquez and Ezra Rodriguez. He will be missed by his brother-in-law, Jose "Foley" Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Tulidania "Tuly" Rodriguez.
Funeral services for Mr. Gonzalez will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.in Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main St. Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Antonio's family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd.
