WATERBURY - Antonio M. Laires, age 59 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Arminda (Pais) Laires.
Antonio was born on October 7, 1957 in Guarda Portugal the son of the late Joao and Ilda (Batista) Laires. He came to the United States I 1974 and worked for many years as a Driver for CWPM. Antonio was an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed spending time in his yard and loved to be at home surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, brother, and father, he especially loved to spend time with his grandson Aiden with whom he had a very special bond. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Antonio will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Besides his wife of 40 years, Antonio leaves his devoted children; his daughter, Diane and his son, Tony both of Waterbury, his grandson, Aiden in addition to his 11 brothers and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Laires.
Funeral services for Mr. Laires will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10:30 a,m, from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St. Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with Antonio's family on Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. .
