WATERBURY - Ariel Lugo Marquez, age 68, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 27, 2021 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at the VITAS Hospice Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital.
Ariel was born on October 3, 1953 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, son of the late Paula Marquez. He moved to Waterbury with his wife and children in December 1980. After moving to Waterbury, he began working for Ward Leonard Electrical Company which was previously known as Tech Systems for 38 years as a motor winder and oven attendant. Ariel loved cooking, grilling, and roasting. He loved salsa music and car detailing. Ariel also enjoyed being the life of the party in all family gatherings. Ariel spent the last 22 months under the care of his wife and hospice where he was provided with the most comfortable life that could be offered before passing away. His family is grateful to all of his caretakers who helped care for Ariel during his illness, along with his friends and co-workers who were there for him not only by his side but with prayers in spirit.
Left to honor Ariel's love and legacy are his wife of 42 years Mildred Lugo of Waterbury, his 4 children Luis "Kiko" Arroyo Jr. and his wife Mary Arroyo, Griselle Arroyo of Miami Fl, Ariel Lugo of Bridgeport and Dashmaris Straut of Vernon. Ariel is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Princess Arroyo, Luis Arroyo, Giselle Muñoz, Krystal Arroyo, Bernardo Garcia "Junior", Ariel Lugo and Xiomara Lugo and a great grandchild who all adored him.
