Loving Mother of Six
Oakville - Arline Marie Downey, age 86 of Oakville, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Downey.
Arline was born January 10, 1930 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Frederick and Eileen (Dadson) Duphiney. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves her children, Margaret (Mary Jane Gleason) Downey of Milford, James (Mona) Downey of Cheshire, Patrick (Kathleen) Downey of Watertown, Thomas Downey of Oakville, Matthew (Terri) Downey of Watertown and Mark (Carolyn) Downey of Watertown. She also leaves her brother, Frederick (Rollande) Duphiney of Stratford, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and her beloved cat, Annie.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Downey will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St., Oakville at 9:00 a.m. Those planning on attending are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
