AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME: Los Gatos, CA. Armond A. Turzo, age 82, of Los Gatos, CA., died peacefully on June 27, 2008.
Armond was born on January 7, 1926, the third born of seven children to the late Antonio and Antoinette Turzo. He was employed as a Manager at IBM in San Jose CA and retired after 23 years of service. He was a US Marine and proudly served his country during World War II assigned to the Second Marine Division, Pacific Theatre of Operations. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed golf, the San Francisco 49ers, UCONN Women's Basketball and the Boston Celtics. Known for his generosity and quick wit, even in his final days, he had his family laughing at his one-liners and funny facial expressions.
Beside his adoring wife, Sharon of 33 years, he is survived by his daughter, Shirley Meister and her late husband Robert and he was the proud grandfather of Ron Meister, all of CA. He leaves three sisters, Gemma Reihl and her husband Jack and their family of Fullerton CA, as well as Susan McCarthy and her family and Julie Turzo, both of Waterbury CT. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by many nieces and nephews in addition to his wife Sharon's family in California. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Amos and two brothers, Anthony and Michael Turzo.
A private burial with full military honors will be held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Memorial donations in Armond's memory may be made to the SS Peter & Paul Building & Repair Fund, 56 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT 06705 or a charity of the donors choice.
