ARTHUR THOMAS CURULLA SR.
OAKVILLE- Arthur T. Curulla Sr. age 80 of Morro St. died Friday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Catherine Ann (Jay) Curulla.
Arthur was born May 2, 1928 in Oakville, a son of the late Domenic and Ann (Spino) Curulla and was a lifelong Oakville resident. He was educated in Oakville and Watertown Schools. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian and groundskeeper for the Watertown Board of Education. In his earlier working years, he worked as an auto body technician and truck driver for Ernie's Auto Body. After his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard at Saint John the Evangelist School in Watertown. He was a member of the Republican Town Committee for many years, was on the board of tax review and also worked as a constable. Arthur was a member of the Bassi-Derouin Bocci League for several years, was an avid gardener and loved to be around his family and friends.
Besides his wife of Oakville he leaves a daughter Elizabeth Ann Sorrenti and her husband Randy of Oakville, two sons Thomas A. Curulla of Oakville, Daniel A. Curulla of Waterbury, two grandchildren Allison and Michael Sorrenti of Oakville, a brother Domenic Curulla and his wife Nancy of Oakville, a sister Mary Major of Bloomfield and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Arthur T. Curulla Jr., a grandson Brian J. Sorrenti and a sister Angeline Becca.
Funeral Monday 11:15a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street to Saint Mary Magdalen for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until leaving for church.
