THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ARTHUR VALLEE
WATERBURY - Arthur Douglas Vallee, age 79 of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Joan D. (Codianne) Vallee.
Doug was born on May 19, 1942 in Waterbury the son of the late Rose (Gagne) Vallee. He attended local schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was injured during combat. Doug was a longtime employee of the State of CT, Comptrollers Office where he retired as Director of Accounts Payable. Doug loved life. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, dancing, social activities of every kind and he was an enthusiastic stamp and coin collector. Doug was a member of various veteran's organizations but most active with VFW Post 7330 in Oakville. He was a devout religious person, longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and practiced his love for God every day. Most of all he was a devoted, husband, father and grandfather and he loved his grandchildren with all his heart. He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish his memory, besides his wife of 49 years are his daughter, Deborah A (Saunders) Jordan and her husband, Rod, his son, Todd R. Saunders his sister, Diana Amico and her husband Tony and daughters Robin and Alana. . Doug and Joan were blessed with 2 grandchildren, Danielle Custer and Sheida Youssephzadeh and three great grandchildren; Aryah, Ayrius, Kameron. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Vallee
Funeral Services for Mr. Vallee be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 a,m. at St Johns Lutheran Church Chase Parkway Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Doug's family on Wednesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial 1987 East Main St. Waterbury CT 06705. Until the greater Waterbury area reaches a 70% threshold of vaccinated population, those visiting the funeral home are requested to remain masked while inside.
