NAUGATUCK - Arthur N. Wood, Jr., 90, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on April 23rd 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving Family.
Art was born February 15th 1928, the son of late Arthur and Eda Wood. He was raised in Waterbury where he was involved with many local organizations including the Elks Club of Waterbury, the American Legion and the VFW. He proudly served his country in the US Navy in World War II from 1946 until 1948. He then reentered the Navy during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged in 1952, he spent many years working for Black and Decker of Shelton, CT as a manufacturing engineer. Art was an avid golfer, gardener but also enjoyed spending time on the water boating and fishing.
Arthur is survived by his fiancé, Alice Berger of North Haven; his daughters, Christine Creasey and her husband, Peter of Oakville, CT, Diane Humphrey of Buffalo, NY, Janice Dumond of Oakville, CT, and Maureen Testa and her husband, Rick of Watertown, CT; his son, Thomas Wood and his wife, Mary-Evelyn of Southington, CT; his eight grandchildren, and his six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his step-brother, Frederick Wood; his daughter, Eileen Wood and his son, James M. Wood.
