WATERBURY - Asya Tartakovsky age 81 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital.
Asya was born on August 28, 1935 in the Quba Region of Azerbejan to the family of a Red Army Officer, the late Abraham and Rita Alperovich. At the conclusion of The Great Patriotic War, her family moved to Ukraine where she continued her schooling, eventually going to the Khrkiv State Institute of Culture, from which she graduated with honors. Asya spent her career enlightening people's minds and helping the pursue further knowledge as a Teacher and a Librarian.
In April of 1959Asya was married to her husband, Arkadiy and they spent 58 happy years together. Two years later they welcomed their only child, Edward to this world. He brought them much joy, happiness and of course, some challenges. Together they built themselves a comfortable home supported by close friends and family. In 1997 the family made the trans-Atlantic move to the USA. In 2002 Asya achieved another proud milestone as became a citizen of the United States of America.
Besides her husband, Akradiy and her son, Edward she leaves a daughter-in-law, Larisa, her grandson Konstantin and his wife Daniella.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Asya had a joyful and optimistic outlook on life and looked forward to every day ahead of her. Asya was the type of person that wouldn't hurt a fly, never gossiped about anyone and worried more about the wellbeing of others than about herself. She was a friendly smile to all and a trust worthy comrade. She will forever remain a part of our hearts. Rest in peace, Asya. Asya was buried in the family plot of Farband Cemetery, Morris CT in the Jewish tradition.
