WATERBURY - Aura Gonzalez age 76. of Waterbury, passed into the waiting arms of the Lord on Wednesday, January 27th 2021 at CT Hospice in Branford CT. She was the devoted wife of Julio Gonzalez.
Aura was born March 8th 1944 in Lares, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Mariano Sanchez and Josefa Robles . Aura was raised in the Bridgeport area and settled in Waterbury in 2005. She was a loving and dedicated home maker who dedicated her life to her family. She was a faithful parishioner of the Church of God who loved reading the bible and enjoyed antiquing, crocheting and looking for great deals at tag sales.
Left to honor Aura's love and legacy, besides her loving husband of 61 years, Julio, she leaves her children; Melvin Gonzalez and his wife, Christina of Stratford, Leticia Gonzalez of Beacon Falls, and Olga Gonzalez and her longtime partner, Samia Hereida of Providence RI. She and Julio were blessed with six wonderful grandchildren whom they loved dearly; Jelissa Gonzalez, Geovani Gonzalez, Destiney Acevedo, Caitlin Acevedo, Edward Acevedo, and Ely Acevedo as well as two great grandchildren; Skylar and Logan in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers; Mariano Sanchez Jr and Carlos Diaz.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gonzalez will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Aura family for a walkthrough visitation only from 9:30 a.m until the service commences at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. All governmental restrictions related to the Covid-19 Virus will be strictly enforced.
