WATERBURY- Awilda Lopez-Nieves age 69 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly while visiting friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
Awilda was born on November 15, 1947 in Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Jose and Adela Nieves. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She leaves to treasure her memories, two sons; Eddie I. Cruz and his wife, Elidia of Waterbury and Isaac Antonio Martinez of Torrington and her daughter, Carmen Ocasio of Tennesse. She also leaves many grandchildren whom she was especially fond and proud of.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lopez-Nieves will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m with a graveside service at All Saints Cemetery, Spring Lake Rd Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Awilda's family on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. .
